Rick Fyffe,
President
At a Bible study one
morning I heard some men share their experiences of a recent trip to
Haiti. They were filled with passion and told the most amazing stories
of how God is working in Haiti. The seed was planted. I would never have
guessed that God was preparing me to serve in Hope For Haiti’s Children,
but He was. To God be the Glory, great things He has done! Are you ready
to have Haiti planted in your heart?

Debbie
Vanderbeek, VP of Haiti Operations
I have been involved in
missions to Haiti since 1988 and went on my first mission trip in 1989.
The strength, courage, faith, resilience and hospitality of the Haitian
people is the biggest draw for me to Haiti. When HFHC asked me to come
work with them at the end of 2003, it was an answer to my prayers for a
job with purpose and eternal value. God answered with more than I had
imagined!

Ken, with
his wife Rhonda, traveled to Haiti in 1993 and were deeply moved by
the incredible outreach efforts of the local Haitian churches in the
midst of incredible poverty and lack of education. Through a
partnership with Jeantyrard Elmera and the Delmas St. Church of
Christ, Ken and Rhonda were instrumental in founding HFHC in 1993.

I was invited by Sandy
and Thom Besso to go on the January 2004 HFHC mission trip. The people
of Haiti , especially the children, their love for the Lord, and their
spiritual joy regardless of their physical circumstances, will keep me
totally involved forever.

My first trip to Haiti
was in 1995. We came hoping to establish a child sponsorship program.
I immediately fell in love with the people, particularly the
Christians. They face such difficult life circumstances, they are
constantly in some kind of serious need and yet are full of faith and
love.

I was asked by Ken Bever,
to go on a medical missions trip in July 2001. After seeing the
children of Haiti with their extreme need and big smiles, I was hooked.
They now own a piece of my heart.

I first went to Haiti in January of 2006.
I was overwhelmed by what I saw. I could not believe that a place
existed with this much need. Seeing HFHC in action was a blessing
because I saw people caring for others who are often in dire and
challenging situations. It was truly an example of faith put into
action. My experiences in Haiti and prayer compelled me to become
involved in this worthy ministry. I pray God is glorified in our service
to His people.

I was introduced into
HFHC by it's founder, Ken Bever, but my faith’s founder, God, really
called me into his work in Haiti. Through HFHC, I'm continually reminded
that serving God through other's isn't necessarily doing great things as
described by man, but it really is about helping his creation have
access to the most basic items in life while learning how to love in
ways I've never known.
